JABEZ!!!!

I’ll explain in a minute…stick with me on this…

Remember the old TV spy-comedy show called “Get Smart”, starring Don Adams as secret agent Smart?

Do you remember one of his famous lines always began with “Would you believe…”

“Get Smart” was a lot deeper philosophically than any of us thought when we watched it years ago.

Because there are a number of questions that begin the same way, and should end with a ‘Yes’, but frequently don’t.

Like:

Would you believe that God Loves you and wants to bless you just as you are?

Would you believe that to begin getting your life straightened out,

All you have to do is sincerely ask God for his help, and be willing to do what he says?

Would you believe that He doesn’t want to harm you, but actually wants to give you his very best?

If your answer to those questions was anything less than an enthusiastic ‘yes’, then you need an attitude adjustment.

(No, not the one using a two by four, but one using the real TRUTH about Him.)

See, if you think God is some kind of cosmic bully out to get you, then no wonder you were not able to answer yes.

The truth is that you have been SERIOUSLY misinformed about God.

He is not out to get you,

In fact,

He loves you so much that He did everything He could,

Short of breaking down the front door of your life,

To keep you from trashing yourself.

You see, He made you able to make real choices in your life.

Eternal Choices.

That is the good news.

The bad news is that we ALL have made the wrong choices…

Either through ignorance, or more correctly,

Through our own perverse desire to be little gods ourselves.

But we are not able to pull off successful god-hood.

So we end up trashing our lives

And ultimately trash ourselves permanently,

If we go where we choose despite His attempts to stop us.

If you are like me, you probably have been running away from Him as hard as you could run for a good portion of your life.

Running for your life, I expect.

That is what I did. Until I found out some things about Him, and saw Him in action in my life.

And now, I want to help you find the real truth about Him also.

Would you believe that He has blessings…fantastic stuff…stored up for you every day?

Would you believe that if you would let Him work on you, He would fix what is wrong?

Would you believe that He is able and willing to fix the things about you that you secretly despair of ever seeing fixed?

(I’m talking about the addictions, and meanness, and stupid things you do and say and always regret later, and all the rest…)

Would You believe that He wants to – and will – fill your life to overflowing with JOY!!?

Would you believe that he will break you free; unshackle you; open your eyes;

Heal your wounds; un-break your heart;

Take away the garment of mourning and fit you out with the garment of praise?

Well, buddy, if you are willing to let Him show you,

Then you can find out that the answer to all those questions,

And some others that you have not even thought to ask!

I FOUND OUT THE TRUTH. YOU CAN TOO. IT IS NOT FAR AWAY, NOR IS IT HARD. A CHILD CAN KNOW.

As far as the ‘Would you believe’ questions are concerned: I joyfully answer YES!

Now, about that ‘Jabez’ thing:

Who, or what is a Jabez?

He is a person in the Old Testament (1 Chronicles 4:9,10), who God called “Honorable”.

(Think about what or who you would have to be for GOD to call YOU ‘honorable”)

This person found out how it is possible to enter into a life of faith and blessing – despite all the negatives in his life. (Just like you and me).

Read this, and begin to practice it every day. Let God bless you as He wants!
